  • Personal Injury (Plaintiff)

Most of my practice is dedicated to protecting the rights of individuals who have been injured or the families of those who have died due to injuries suffered. I represent individuals involved in controversies alleging a wrong or damage to another's person, rights, reputation, or property resulting from events including, but not limited to, the following:

    • Automobile Collisions
    • Pedestrian and bicycle injuries
    • Wrongful Death
    • Head Injuries
    • Spinal Injuries
    • Medical Malpractice/Hospital Injuries
    • Adult-Care Facility Injuries
    • Premises Liability
    • Products Liability

    • Automobile Collisions-- Many personal injuries result from motor vehicle accidents. Auto accidents may involve negligence on the part of drivers, including drunk driving and other reckless behavior. If you are injured in a motor vehicle accident in Pierce or King Counties, I can assist you in receiving compensation for your injuries, which includes medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, property damage, permanent injuries, future medical bills, lost earning capacity, future wages, and loss of the pleasures and enjoyment of life. Do not give a statement to anyone until you hire a lawyer. Hire a lawyer, the insurance company already has one.

    • Wrongful Death-- If you've lost a loved one in an accident or as the result of a faulty or defective product or piece of equipment, I can represent your interests against the parties at fault and their insurance companies to seek damages on your behalf.

    • Medical Malpractice/Hospital Injuries-- I am experienced in medical malpractice law and can help clients determine whether or not malpractice has occurred. Doctors and other health-care providers must follow certain standards when caring for patients. While a simple mistake is not enough to constitute negligence or malpractice, a death or injury caused by the failure to provide reasonably appropriate or common standards of care or the failure to diagnose an easily detectable illness may be malpractice. When someone is injured as a result of the negligence or misconduct of a dental or medical professional, the law provides a means of obtaining compensation, allowing the injured party or parties to get on with their lives.

    • Adult-Care Facility Injuries-- Although the majority of adult-care facilities and their workers provide good service, mistakes are sometimes made which could adversely affect the resident, as well as their friends and family, for the rest of their lives. The mistakes that cause the most harm are normally the result of negligence or neglect. In some cases, the mistakes are so serious as to cause the death of the resident. I have successfully represented individuals and their families whose adult-care facility has breached the standard of care in treating residents.

    • Premises Liability-- Too often, property and business owners neglect the condition of their property and create dangerous and hazardous conditions for others who come into contact with it. Whether a property owner allows ice and snow to accumulate on walkways or a grocery store fails to clean up a slippery spill in the aisle, these conditions are dangerous. If you are hurt because a "slip-and-fall" or a "trip-and-fall" due to dangerous conditions, I may be able to help you recover for your injuries.

    • Products Liability-- I represent individuals who have been injured as a result of a dangerous or unsafe product that was designed, manufactured, sold, and/or furnished by a person or company. I assist those injured individuals in bringing their claims and being fairly compensated for their injuries.

  • Sexual Harassment

Over the years, I have helped numerous individuals obtain fair compensation for sexual harassment they have suffered. There are two major types of sexual harassment:
    (a) Hostile-environment sexual harassment - This is where an employee in his/her work environment is subject to unwelcome verbal or physical sexual behavior that is either severe or pervasive. (b) Quid pro quo sexual harassment - This is where the satisfaction of a sexual demand is used as the basis of an employment decision.

  • Civil Rights / Discrimination

This involves fundamental issues of human rights and freedoms. I represent clients who believe that they have been the victims of police misconduct, sexual harassment, and discrimination - age, disability and illness, national origin, sex, race, and religion - in employment, public accommodation, education, housing, or voting under federal or state law.
